Hunger Ministry
Purpose:
To support churches in caring for the needs of people who are hungry by providing education, resources, and opportunities for collaboration.
Impact:
Since its inception, the Hunger Ministry at the WRBA has made a unique mark in the community by not only supporting local church-based hunger ministries, but by connecting churches to one another, and with other organizations, in order to have a greater impact on hunger within the community. WRBA church hunger ministries include:
- Community Gardens
- Food Pantries
- Summer Meals for Children
- School Backpack Programs
- Advocacy and Letter-Writing Campaigns
- Community Meals
- And more!
What we do:
We help churches build on their capacity, encourage regular planning and evaluation, and provide resources, training and opportunities for collaboration. We hope to support churches in creating and sustaining healthy hunger alleviation ministries that provide relief for today and hope for tomorrow.
How to be involved:
Together with Christ we have the opportunity to be a part of restoring and reconciling creation to God. We hope by being generous stewards of our resources, literally our food, we can aid our community.
