Ministries

The ministry of WRBA is driven by teams of volunteers, both ministers and laypeople, who have come together not to form committees that simply discuss options but Ministry Teams that become personally invested in the community. These teams help to direct the focus of the Association’s efforts in every area of its work, while the individuals making up these teams remain involved in their own church’s ministries, giving the Association a vital link to the needs in our area. There is always the possibility of other teams forming based on mutual interest between association churches and the WRBA strategic plan. To learn more about these teams and their current projects, as well as other ministries supported by WRBA, look at the following pages:

Ministry Teams

  • The Board

  • Church Member Health Team

  • Church Evangelism Team

Does your church have an evangelism plan?  Are you reaching out to the church neighborhood or the neighbors around where you live?

The Church Evangelism Team encourages WRBA member churches to adopt and implement a specific evangelistic strategy over five years. The “Church Evangelism Ministry Team” will research, recommend, support, equip and track an effective church evangelism strategy.  This team would be responsible for recommending the best use of available resources that might come in conjunction with the Texas Baptists annual meetings.

  • Church Protection Team

Have you wondered what to do with changes and new threats in our culture? Perhaps your church has wanted help in preparing for these cultural shifts?

The Church Protection Team anticipates the legal and cultural challenges threatening the viability of many of our churches through education, consultation and dissemination of appropriate information, providing helpful guidance to our churches. A team of theologians, pastors, attorneys and administrators could help identify and address external threats to churches on a larger scale (This is not necessarily intended to provide legal counsel to individual churches for specific situations).

  • Church Technology Team

Are you trying to figure out how to set up the church AV equipment? Have you been stumped on how to create a church website or implement today’s technology with your church?

The Church Technology Team supports WRBA churches with the development of appropriate technology that assists the church with all of its ministries, such as evangelism, discipleship, outreach, community ministries and internal communications.

Some examples of the technology that this team might help with are: Apps and church use of smart phones, communicating with prospects/visitors/members, websites, and social media as well as CRM Databases. This team could assemble helpful lists of graphic designers, AV technicians, website designers and IT support technicians to make the churches more culturally relevant and accessible to the community.
